Negotiations Update:
At our most recent negotiations session, the Union responded to the administration's Memorandum and presented several counterproposals.
Key issues included:
Reaffirming our position on summer teaching workload and rejecting the administration's proposal to reduce the maximum summer load.
Proposing greater flexibility for online course assignments and reducing the maximum online class size.
Rejecting the administration's proposal regarding "overload."
Proposing a tenured or tenure-track faculty member as a non-voting representative on the Board of Trustees.
Revising Saturday scheduling language for librarians.
Reaffirming our proposal to create a joint labor-management committee to address AI issues affecting faculty.
The Union also introduced new proposals on:
Paid Leaves of Absence
Promotion
Hiring Process for Tenure-Track Faculty
Negotiations will continue, and we will keep the membership updated as bargaining progresses. Thank you for your continued support and solidarity.
